CFMoto is a prime example of a Chinese manufacturer that has made a strong inroad in the European ATV market, in fact, it’s now claiming to have the largest market share when it comes to off-road vehicle sales in Europe.

Unlike some other Chinese ATV brands, CFMoto is now well established on Irish and UK markets.

A large degree of the brand’s rapid success here in Europe can be attributed to the fact that it was in a position to fill the void in ATV supply, left by a booming market and other manufacturers’ inability to supply machines during Covid-19 due to implications surrounding the pandemic and the unforecasted rise in demand.

CFMoto believes that further growth is well within reach, by offering good value for money, improving dealer support alongside further developing its production range.

CFMoto is imported into Ireland and the UK via UK-based company Quadzilla Ltd and distributed via its subsequent dealer network.

New model lineup

The current generation blended in with its perceived competitors in terms of looks and styling, but the new CForce C4 and C5 models provide a much bolder-looking appearance.

The front end is more aggressive and futuristic-looking, while the body is distinguished by much sharper lines, not that it benefits most farmers, who tend to prefer an understated appearance.

The new CForce C4 and C5 models feature futuristic styling at the front end.

Nevertheless, the latest CForce models come equipped with all the latest specifications and at a competitive price point. The updated lineup consists of the CForce C4 Agri, CForce C4 and CForce C5.

C4 and C4 Agri

The C4 is the entry-level model, being the smallest and lightest of the lineup. It is fitted with a new, slimmed down 409cc engine, reducing rider leg width by one third.

This unit produces 33hp and 34.5Nm of torque, an increase from 28hp in the current CForce 450 model, which it replaces.

A new reverse exhaust layout has been implemented to direct heat away from the rider, reducing what CFMoto says is perceived leg temperature.

Both noise and vibrations claim to be significantly reduced as a result of dual balance shafts, hydraulic valve components and a quad-chamber muffler.

Power is diverted to the stepless belt drive transmission, with selectable four-wheel drive and front diff-lock as before.

However, the left lever position has moved from the left-hand side to the right, and proves much easier to move between high, low, neutral and reverse positions.

According to CFMoto, other gains have been made over its predecessor, one being a 23% reduction in internal resistance, improving efficiency and responsiveness in cold weather. Service intervals have also been pushed out by 25%, which is roughly an increase of 2,000km.

The drive selector has been repositioned to the right hand front fender.

All in all, the Chinese manufacturer claims that these updates offer a 20% improvement in fuel efficiency.

Other updates include new switch gear, a thicker seat and small diameter hand grips, providing the rider with a feeling of greater comfort and control. The C4 features a slightly wider chassis than before for improved stability.

Suspension travel has been increased to 210mm up front and 235mm at the rear, for improved comfort on rough terrain.

Towing capacity is 612kg, which is close to twice the weight of the C4 model. Meanwhile, stronger cargo racks have been fitted, offering a rated 40kg capacity up front and 80kg on the rear. A 1,134kg winch also comes fitted as standard.

New CForce models are equipped with a number of new standard features including full LED lighting, 5.9in LCD display, 12v power socket, USB charging ports, quick release side panels, CF-Connect accessory mounting system, and a front tow hook. UK and Irish spec models are believed to be offered standard, with heated grips to improve rider comfort on colder winter days.

The C4 model is available in a more affordable Agri spec offering steel wheels and no power steering.

The C4 Agri version features steel wheels and does not come equipped with Electronic Power Steering (EPS).

C5

The larger brother of the C4 is naturally, the C5 model and features many of the same updates.

The main difference, however, is the larger 499cc engine. It churns out 39hp and 43Nm of torque, up 5hp on the outgoing CForce 520.

Wheel base and capacities such as towing and cargo rack capacities are unchanged to the C4 lineup.

Ground clearance is increased by 15mm at 275mm over the C4 at 260mm and at 373kg it is heavier than the outgoing CForce 520 (344kg) and new C4 (355kg).

The C4 Agri and non Agri models are available in a Cypress Green colour while the C5 is offered in Gedanite Grey and Magma Red. The new CForce generation 4 range includes a two-year parts and labour warranty.
