Clarke Agri Engineering will return to the National Ploughing Championships this year with a grand total of nine machines.

Up front-and-centre on the Mayo manufacturer’s stand this year will be its new 3m Pasture Pro direct drill.

This fully galvanised 24-row drill is new to the range. It features a row of 12mm tines up front, followed by two rows of discs, with 24 discs and accompanying seed coulters.

This is followed by a set of prism rollers on the rear. The unit is fitted with a 400l hydraulic driven Guttler air seeder. Clarke Agri Engineering is using 410mm x 4mm discs, which run at a 12-degree angle.

Working depth is controlled manually off the rear roller, with buyers having the option of upgrading to hydraulic. The drill weighs in at 1,800kg with the prism roller, and has the option of being fitted with alternate rollers.

The lineup will include its full range of grass harrows including 2.1m, 2.5m, 3m, 4.5m and 6m variants. The 2.5m harrow is a new addition to the range. The firm will also showcase its 7.5m straw rake.

The Pasture Pro 3000 (rear mounted) and Pasture Pro 3000F (front mounted) will also be on display. The Pasture Pro is a grassland rejuvenator available in 3m working widths.

Starting at with the front unit, the mounted harrow can be fitted with two rows of shatter boards or slicing plates, which are hydraulically adjustable. Moving to the rear unit, the front row can be fitted with shatter boards or slicing plates, while the back row can be fitted with two rows of either 8mm, 10mm or 12mm tines, which are manually adjustable with an option of upgrading to hydraulic adjustment. The rear-mounted machine weighs in at approximately 1,300kg.

The harrow unit can be purchased on its own and so can the roller option. There is also a number of roller options for the rear unit, including prism, plain, aerator and a Cambridge roller.
