UK dung spreader manufacturer, Agri-Hire, or AH Engineering as it is often referred to, presented a clever new automatic floor shut-off feature on its rear-discharge muck spreaders.

The new automatic floor shut-off feature, through the use of sensors, is designed to prevent the operator from engaging the floor chains without the rear beaters running. In addition, the floor will cut out and stop moving in the event that the shear bolt on the input driveshaft breaks.

Both features prevent the rear beaters from being overloaded, thus causing further issues and downtime, in the event that the operator forgets to engage the rotors upon start up or if and when the shear bolt breaks.

A light on the from panel illuminates when the rear beaters are stopped.

A simple light, visible from the operator’s seat, is illuminated when the beaters are stopped.

Agri-Hire outlined that it intends to offer this simple system as part of its standard specification.
