SIP mower gains new linkage and pneumatic suspension

SIP exhibited a range of new kit in Germany last week, including the Silvercut Disc F front-mounted conditioner mower. The new front mower retains the proven SIP cutter bar, but the new design moves away from A-frame mounting. Instead, the linkage works at a fixed height, mounted directly on the three-point linkage, which SIP says allows them to gain more vertical movement.

The new mower is kitted out with a hydro-pneumatic suspension system (HPS) to adapt to the ground at hand, while offering a clean cut. SIP notes that the new S-Flow linkage is based on the design of the cutter bar mounting, to provide responsiveness to changing ground terrain. SIP explains that in tandem, they work to apply even pressure on the ground and a clean cut across the field.

This new system requires just one single-acting hydraulic connection, with a diverter valve, to both set the pressure of the bed and control the raising and lowering of the frame.
