H Fulton Tractors, the Irish importer and distributor of the Schaffer loader brand, returns to the Ploughing with a selection of the manufacturer’s latest generation machines, varying in sizes and capacities.

The Co Derry firm will show the 6680T-3, 8620T-2, 8620T-3 and the larger 9640T-3.

In recent years, Schaffer has moved to its third generation -3 models, which bring about a brand-new cab and sleeker bonnet design. The new cab offers 8% more volume and improved access over the current generation.

Visibility has also been improved due to the larger windscreen and sleeker bonnet. Integral to the new cabin are the 10-inch touchscreen terminal, new control arm and joystick.

A new release mechanism and door handle make it easier to close the door from fully opened when seated. Other standard features include new LED lights and split-wing mirrors.

A number of new features, including an automatic bucket shake function, third-service oil regulation, upper and lower bucket limits, etc, have been added and can be easily selected through the terminal. Performance and capacities are unchanged.

Capacities have gone unchanged, meaning that the 8620T-3, and 8620T-2 models remain powered by either the 102hp or optional 129hp Deutz engines. Similarly, the 9640T-3, which is the second largest model in the range, remains fitted with the 143hp Deutz engine.

The 8620T-3 is rated to lift 4,200kg and offers a maximum lift height of 4.96m. Operating weight (including original tyres, operator and a standard bucket) is somewhere in the region of 7,000-8,000kg.

Meanwhile, 9640T-3 is rated to lift 4,200kg, with a maximum lift height of 5.18m.

Its operating weight is between 8,400kg and 9,700kg, depending on specification.

Spearhead

H Fulton are also the Irish distributors for the Spearhead range of hedge cutters, so therefore the firm will have a selection of machines on display. The models set to be displayed at Screggan include Multicut 300 topper, Twiga Classic 560 hedge cutter and a Twiga Mid T65 hedge cutter.

A selection of hedge cutters including the Twiga Mid T65 will be on show.

The Twiga Mid T65 features a 6.5m telescopic reach and 75hp hydraulic pump.
