The fourth annual National Agriculture Contractor Conference will take place in Portlaoise on Wednesday, 3 December 2025.

The Association of Farm and Forestry Contractors in Ireland (FCI) invites members and families to the Killeshin Hotel (R32 TYW7) in Portlaoise for the event, which runs from 10.30am to 5.30pm. FCI says the central theme of the conference will be ‘Balancing Minds, Machines and Money’.

The Minister for Agriculture Martin Heydon will open the event, which will explore issues such as managing agricultural businesses, contractor succession planning, the introduction of the auto-enrolment pension scheme, mental health and motivation, and developments in technology – including the emergence of electric tractors.

A representative of the Danish Contractors Association will discuss the changes that have taken place in Danish agriculture and the steps that Danish contractors are taking in response to these challenges. Lunch and tea/coffee are included in the ticket price, which is €30. Tickets must be booked in advance through Denise via telephone (087 177 2105) or email (admin@farmcontractors.ie). The 2025 FCI National Agricultural Contractor Conference is sponsored by FBD Insurance.
