Cheffins Auctioneers recently held an online dispersal auction, where a number of record prices were paid for some immaculate modern classic tractors. Topping the sale at €154,830 (£134,000) plus VAT and fees was a 2010 Fendt 820 Vario TMS model, with just 62 hours on clock from new.
The timed sale, which went live on Monday 23 February, ended last Thursday 5 March and was held on behalf of the Hampshire-based Cox Family Collection.
A total of 86 were catalogued,15 of which were exceptionally low-houred, modern classic tractors.
A number of lots sold for over and above their selling prices of when purchased new.
The sale-topping Fendt was described in as new condition and bearing an exceptional spec list, including a Fendt Cargo 5X90 front loader and bucket, as well as front linkage and PTO. The tractor was shod on its original Michelin MultiBib tyres.
Next up was a 1990-registered Mercedes MB Trac 1600 Turbo model which sold for €138,654 (£120,000) plus VAT and fees. This exceptional original example showed 5,565 hours on the clock and featured front linkage and PTO, reverse drive and Michelin BibX tyres.
The third-highest sale price was €127,099 (£110,000), paid for a 2011 registered John Deere 7530 Premium Autoquad model. With just 2,165 hours on the clock and in exceptional original condition, the tractor was fitted on its original Goodyear Optitrac tyres and came with its 1,150kg weight block.
Meanwhile, a 1996 Case International 1455XL with 4,679 hours on the clock, also in exceptional, original condition, was sold for €71,060 (£61,500) plus VAT and fees.
The tractor was fitted with a Dynamic Damping System seat, full set of front weights and a push out hitch.
A 2003 John Deere 7810 AutoQuad 50km/h model with 9,577 hours sold for €68,171 (£59,000) plus VAT and fees. It was fitted with a Sauter front linkage, front TLS suspension, air brakes, air conditioning and shod on a set of BKT tyres.
Trailing closely behind, having sold for €67,593 (£58,500) plus VAT and fees, was a 1998 Case IH Maxxum 5150 Pro with just 990 hours on the clock.
The tractor featured a Kitchin Engineering pickup hitch, six genuine front weights, and air conditioning. It too was shod on its original Goodyear Super Traction tyres and came supplied with the original operator’s manual and promotional brochure.
Other top prices included; €64,705 (£56,000) paid for a 1997 Fendt Favorit 824 Turboshift with 15,835 hours, €58,927 (£51,000) paid for a 2008 John Deere 7930 AutoQuad model with 8,555 hours and €59,505 (£51,500) paid for a 2002 John Deere 7810 AutoQuad 40km/h model with 5,759 hours. A 2012 Fendt 820 Vario TMS with 11,796 hours sold at €53,150 (£46,000), a 2010 Case IH Magnum 310 with just 5,127 hours sold for €50,839 (£44,000), a 1997 Case IH Magnum 7250 with 4,982 hours sold for €47,951 (£41,500) and a 1997 John Deere 6506 PowrQuad model with 4,225 hours sold at €39,863 (£34,500).
