New registration figures from the FTMTA show that new telescopic loader registrations in Ireland for the year to date have increased by 18% to 651 units. In the same nine-month period in 2024, a total of 549 units were registered. Telehandler registrations in September 2025 reported a 13% increase on the same month in 2024, recording 51 units.

Looking at historical data, a total of 618 machines were sold in 2024, 606 machines were sold in 2023 and 534 machines were sold in 2022, meaning 2025 to date has surpassed all other telehandler sales years on record. This trend also demonstrates the growing demand for new and used telehandlers across all types of Irish farms, a similar trend to what we have seen across Europe over the past decade.

The two leading brands, Manitou and JCB, accounted for 74% of the total market. There were 60 imported used telescopic loaders registered in September 2025, up from 42 in September 2024. Meath (117 units), Cork (114 units) and Wexford (60 units) are the three top-selling telehandler counties this year.

The Irish wheel loader market recorded an increased number of new registrations in September 2025 at 11 units compared with September 2024 at 10 units, which was a market increase of 9%. There were 161 new wheeled loaders registered in Ireland for the first nine months of 2025, which is one more machine than what was registered in all of 2024. There were 10 imported used wheeled loaders registered in September 2025 compared with eight in September 2024.

There were 60 imported used telescopic loaders registered in September 2025.
