A total of 56 new tractors were registered in the Republic of Ireland during June, marking an 8% increase on June 2025.
This takes the six-month new tractor registration total to 1,487 units, leaving the 2026 market 12% ahead of the same period last year.
Interestingly, Mayo and Tipperary recorded the highest number of new tractor registrations in June.
Despite June traditionally being a low-registration month ahead of the July plate change, both counties registered six new tractors.
The most popular power band for June 2026 was the 121-140hp category, accounting for 27% of all new registrations. Average tractor horsepower was 136hp, while the largest tractor registered was rated at 260hp.
FTMTA data shows 248 imported used tractors were first-time registered in Ireland in June 2026, 12 fewer than in June 2025. This brings the year-to-date total of used imported tractor registrations to 1,466 units by the end of June.
Northern Ireland
A total of 50 new tractors were registered in Northern Ireland in June, according to the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA), a 10.7% decrease on the same month last year.
The year-to-date total to the end of June reached 443 units, representing a 57% increase on 2025. Taking a broader look, Northern Ireland accounted for 7.4% of total UK new tractor sales during the first half of 2026.
The entire UK market recorded 999 new tractor registrations during June, up 17.3% on June 2025. Year-to-date registrations reached 5,955 units by the end of June, an increase of 22.3% on the same period in 2025.
