Aodes ATVs and UTVs are set to make their Irish debut at the Ploughing next week. Being imported and distributed by Galway-based Noel Turley Auto Sales, Aodes is headquartered in Shandong, China, and says it has more than 30 years of expertise in off-road innovation.
Over the years, Aodes has expanded its engine portfolio to include single and V-twin platforms from 1,000cc to 1,10cc, as well as green electric power units. The brand now delivers a wide range of vehicles, including ATVs, UTVs, snowmobiles, golf carts and e-vehicles. Aodes claims to be present in over 100 countries across North America, Europe, Oceania, Australia, South America, Asia and Africa.
At the Ploughing next week, Noel Turley Auto Sales will be displaying the Workcross 650cc-3 UTV and the Pathcross 525 ATV.
The Workcross is powered by a 650cc V-twin four-stroke liquid-cooled engine, with electronic fuel injection. With the option of 2WD or 4WD, it features independent dual A-arm independent suspension on front and rear axles and adjustable coil-over shock. Its show price is €14,995, plus VAT.
The Pathcross 525 is a 525cc single cylinder powered quad which features 2WD and 4WD, disc brakes and double A-arm independent suspension. Its show price is €6,500, plus VAT.
Noel Turley has said more models will be in the country before the month is out, including new Workcross 1,000 and Pathcross 650.
Powerland
The battery-powered Powerland Tachyon ATV will also be on the firm’s stand. The Tachyon sources its power from an 11.2kWh lithium-ion battery, which the manufacturer says is the equivalent output to 48hp, which directly converts to 720cc.
Power from the battery is transferred directly to the wheel motors, meaning there is no loss of power through shafts or a transmission.
With no transmission as such, it means there are no ranges, it’s as simple as drive (forward), neutral and reverse.
The bike also features selectable 4WD. The manufacturer says it has a range of up to 110km in eco mode and it takes six hours to fully charge.
It features two modes: eco and boost. It says peak torque is 210Nm, 0-60km/h is achieved in under four seconds, while top speed is 85km/h.
The bike features a regenerative braking system, which allows it to reuse the energy typically lost during braking to recharge the battery. Weighing in at 375kg, it has a hitch towing capacity rating of 500kg.
The firm has sold 14 Tachyons in Ireland to date.
