Irish Vendeen Sheep Society All-Ireland finals

The Irish Vendeen Sheep Society will stage its All-Ireland championships on Saturday 20 June in conjunction with Sheep 2015 event at Athenry, Co Galway.

Sponsored by J Grennan and Son Agri, some of the best Vendeen sheep in the country will be judged across six classes by Brian Hanthorn from the renowned Mullan flock, Co Armagh.

John Hall elected British Blue president

John Hall, Dalston, Carlisle, Cumbria was elected President of the British Blue Cattle Society at its recent AGM in Borderway mart. John farms 1,000 acres along with his brother, Peter, and carries 2,000 Beltex cross ewes and 120 Limousin cross suckler cows all put in-calf to British Blue bulls.

All bullocks are sold as stores for finishing while the heifers are sold as breeding females.
