One of Ireland's most successful pedigree Limousin herds - Ballyline Limousins based in Co Roscommon - held its first ever online production sale over the weekend.
Hosted by Mid-Tipp Mart through MartEye, the timed auction consisted of 15 top-class Limousin heifers from Bertie Mannion's multi-award-winning enterprise.
Buyers from all over Ireland secured lots, with 13 out of the 15 heifers selling to an average of €5,385.
Achieving the highest price of €9,800 was the stunning in-calf heifer Ballyline U-60843.
A daughter of Tomschoice Lexicon, this double F94L carrier goes back to Mereside Goldolphin and Gleannari Everest on her mother's side.
Born in January 2023, she packed a tremendous set of indexes, including a replacement index of €205 and was the choice lot of Martin Williams from Co Westmeath.

Next best at €6,600 was the in-calf heifer Ballyline U-50834, a March 2023-born daughter of Elite Pedigree Genetics' Plumtree Fantastic.
Going back to Castleview Gazelle and Imperial on her dam's side, this double F94L carrier offered buyers a page full of stars and was knocked down to a herd in Co Galway.
Finding a new home in Co Roscommon at €6,000 was Ballyline Veronica, a March 2024-born daughter of Aughalion Prince ET and going back to Gleannari Everest and Wilodge Vantastic.
Once again, this double F94L carrier displayed a nice balance of indexes, boosted by a five-star terminal index of €142.
Leading the yearling heifer trade was Ballyline Violeta at €5,800, finding a new residence in Co Tipperary.
Born in October 2024, this flashy Plumtree Fantastic daughter boasted a massive set of figures, as well as one copy of both the F94L and Q204X genes.
