The Scottish Bovine Electronic Identification (EID) Stakeholder Group is pushing for a pilot by the end of 2018 before electronic tags for cattle are eventually introduced.

Andrew McCornick, NFU Scotland president and stakeholder group chair said: “Electronic tags and collars are already prevalent on some dairy and beef enterprises for management purposes and we want to identify a solution that allows the benefits that these businesses are already seeing to be shared across the whole supply chain.”
