I came across road signage for a harvest run on my travels this week. I like the idea of it. It marks the harvest and people can get out for a bit of exercise. Along the 5km route, you can inspect the tillage fields of Barrowhouse in Co Laois, five minutes from Athy and in the heart of the county’s tillage land. Proceeds go to Barrowhouse GAA. Register online. The race takes place on Wednesday, 29 July at 7pm.
