The Dealer would like to wish Mary Delaney all the best in her new role as chair of the Dairy Research Ireland (DRI) board.

Delaney, an agribusiness consultant and dairy farmer, previously held senior roles at Glanbia and the Irish Farmers Journal, and currently serves on the board of Bord Bia. She is also a Nuffield scholar and former Agricultural Science Association president. She takes over the DRI chair from Jim Beecher, former assistant secretary at the Department of Agriculture, who held the position since 2010.

DRI manages the dairy research levy collected from Irish dairy farmers, and oversees strategy and funding of research programmes aligned with national and EU priorities.
