Cork man and CEJA president Alan Jagoe will be joined in Brussels by six of his Macra colleagues.

The young farmers gained seats on a number of EU Commissions Civil Dialogue Groups through its membership of CEJA, supported by IFAC. The groups create a link between the Commission and agri-stakeholders across all EU member states.

Macra president Sean Finan landed a seat on the CAP group, while Leitrim man Ray Gilmartin has a spot on forestry. Former young farmer of the year John Buckley is on the milk civil dialogue group, Niall Nicholson retained his seat on the beef group; Ronan Byrne, Galway is staying on the organic one; and Charlie Smyth, Cavan joins the poultry and eggs group.
