Last week’s beef kill increased 1,300hd to 37,452, the highest kill recorded since the week after the first beef factory blockade in autumn 2014.
The bumper kill was driven by farmers dealing with deteriorating ground conditions looking to move cattle faster.
Higher numbers have put some pressure on price but the trade appears to be withstanding this pressure.
