Farm Safety Live – an initiative established by FRS Training, the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) and FBD Insurance – is returning to Tullamore Show for the 11th consecutive year.

Experts from FRS Training will provide hands-on demonstrations focusing on livestock handling, PTO safety, chainsaw operations, advice for working at heights and new demonstrations, such as bale stacking and telehandler operations display.

The demonstrations will be available from 10am at stand L105, with the aim of helping to reduce the number of farm accidents.

Senior inspector at the HSA Ger Hartnett said the initiative gives farmers the opportunity to see practical safety advice brought to life.

“The demonstrations highlight common risks associated with machinery, vehicles, livestock and working at height and show how simple precautions can help prevent serious injuries and fatalities,” he said.

Operations manager at FRS Training Ben Fearn said farming remains one of Ireland’s most hazardous occupations, which makes preparation, prevention and awareness critical to reducing accidents and saving lives.

“Live demonstrations are a powerful tool for changing behaviours, allowing people to see real-life dangers and safe working practices in a practical and memorable way,” Fearn added.
