There was no wild variation on recent weanling trends. Those from 250kg to 310kg seem to be selling well, with prices generally ranging from €2.50/kg to €2.80/kg and some going above that. Bulls above 400kg were selling from €1.95/kg to €2.20/kg, with quality and weight a big price factor. Bulls from 310kg to 400kg ranged from €2.20/kg up to €2.50/kg.

Weanling heifers were less consistent than the bulls in terms of quality but, as one buyer commented, they were dear enough.

There were 172 bullocks on offer, with excellent prices available for U grade potential 2015-born animals. Plainer cattle were a tougher sell, but those with good weight for age were in demand.

Heifer numbers were relatively steady compared with recent weeks, with 66 on offer. Trade was similar to most southern marts in recent weeks.

There were 60 cows on offer. Prices ranged from €150 under up to €370 over the €/kg.
