Weather forecast

According to Met Éireann, it will be dry for more northern counties today. However, rain and drizzle will affect most other parts of the country through the day with the rain turning heavier during the afternoon. There will highs of 8°C to 9°C across Ulster but 10°C to 13°C elsewhere.

From midnight tonight until 11am on Thursday morning a national weather warning will be in place as Storm Doris reaches Ireland. Severe winds are expected late tonight and Thursday morning. Weather will be thundery with a risk of hail, sleet and hill snow, especially in northern areas, as winds veer strong to gale force northwesterly.
