Mexico – pig numbers increase

USDA forecasts that Mexico’s pig slaughter will increase by 3% this year to 18.2m head and by 3% again next year, bringing the factory throughput up to 18.7m head.

Australia – record beef production

Beef production for the 2025-2026 financial year increased 8.6% to 2.985m tonnes on the back of cattle throughput reaching almost 10 million head.

New Zealand – record milk production

DCA reports that New Zealand dairy farmers produced 335,000 tonnes (325.2m litres) of milk in July, 6.8% more than July 2025 and a record for the month.

UK – wheat stocks

The AHDB has published the DEFRA estimate of 351,000 tonnes of wheat stocks in England and Wales in June, which is 46% below 2025 levels and the lowest June total since 2000.
