The Tullow Sheep Breeders Association is gearing up for a big week with its 39th annual show and sale taking place on Wednesday 5 August in Tullow Mart, Co Carlow.

The sale kick-starts the breeding ewe sales season – with over 1,100 ewe lambs and 1,000 hoggets on offer.

Ewe lambs enter the ring at 11am, with the hammer falling on ewe hoggets at 1pm.

Mart manager Eric Driver said the quality of sheep on offer promised to be first class.

Decads of dedication

“We got a preview of the outstanding quality that this group of sheep farmers produce time and time again at the recent Tullow Sheep Breeders Association Pairs night.

"There is decades of dedication and expertise in breeding the famous Tullow ewe, which continues to deliver the goods in producing quality lambs for several seasons, before realising a high price as an excellent cull ewe”.
