Ivan Scott turned back the clock at Shearfest 2026 and put in a phenomenal performance in the open final to hold off the advances of Jack Robinson, Denis O’Sullivan, Graeme Davidson, Aaron McGee and Stanley Alingham.

There was just two scores separating the top three with Scott finishing with a score of 67.65 while Robinson scored 69.4 and Denis O’Sullivan 69.65.

In an electric atmosphere Scott sheared 20 large-framed hoggets in just 18 minutes and 24 seconds, over a minute faster than the average time of 19 minutes and 36 seconds.

Denis O’Sullivan edged out Ivan Scott in the National final followed by Aaron McGee, Adam Killeen, Patrick Corrigan and Luke Magee.

The inaugural provincial final was won by Munster who were captained by Denis O’Sullivan.

They held off a strong Ulster team with Leinster finishing third and Connacht in fourth position.

There was plenty of friendly rivalry in the blades shearing final with James Hopkins claiming bragging rights over his brother Martin while George Mudge, one of the oldest competing shearers finished third followed by Seamus Kelly.

Senior contest

There was a number of up and coming shearers competing in the senior final which was won by Adam Killeen.

Second up was Patrick Corrigan followed by Matthew Cowan, Joseph Scahill, Ciaran Lawless and Joseph Stephens.

Sean Dunne was the winner in the intermediate class followed by Kevin Noone, Brian Kealy, Cian Dafis, Andy Corrigan and James Hopkins.

The junior final was also a close affair with less than a point separating the top three where Eoghan McParland came out on top. Archie Kells, who is just 16 years of age finished second followed by Samuel Jones, Pat Biggins, Peter Og Morgan and Kieran McDonagh.
