Taking place this August in Laois, Cork and Tipperary, the 'Future-Focused Dairy Farming Roadshow' will bring together leading experts and progressive farmers for an informative day focused on the key decisions shaping the future of Irish dairy farming.

The roadshow will open with the Irish Farmers Journal setting the scene with an introduction to the host farm and a look at the outlook for the dairy industry. Their session will provide valuable context on the opportunities and challenges ahead for dairy farmers.

Martin Kavanagh from Munster Bovine will explore the topic 'Future generation' and the importance of breeding a herd that pays for itself. His presentation will focus on genetics and the role breeding decisions play in creating long-term farm profitability.

Animal health will also take centre stage; with Cara Sheridan, veterinary manager with MSD Animal Health, outlining how 'Future herd' planning can support a more productive and profitable herd. Her session will highlight how better herd health can help unlock performance and reduce costly setbacks.

Technology and labour efficiency will be addressed by Conor Hogan of Teagasc, who will discuss how farmers can use technology to improve labour efficiency and ease the pressure of day-to-day farm work.

With labour continuing to be a challenge for many farms, this session will offer practical ideas for working smarter not harder. Each of the host farms have SenseHub Technology installed and will also share insights on how it has transformed the way they farm for the better.

Rounding out the day, AIB will focus on 'Future profit' and the importance of controlling costs to protect the bottom line. In a time of tight margins, strong financial management remains essential.

These roadshow events are designed to deliver practical, actionable advice for farmers who want to improve decision making, genetics, animal health, labour efficiency and technology use.
