A further weakening of international grain prices over the past week is very unwelcome news for grain growers.
Current market price levels appear to make previously realistic expectations of up to €140/t for green feed barley now seem quite unlikely, unless there is co-op support.
General trade prices are back on recent weeks.
November wheat, which went above €183/t back in early July, has difficulty achieving €172/t this week. Reports suggest that offers of wheat for €175/t out to April are not attracting buyers. Low maize prices are driving decisions.
