Tirlán has announced its grain prices for the 2026 harvest. Farmers in receipt of full bonuses with the co-op will be paid €220/t before quality parameters and €230/t for feed wheat.

Before co-op bonuses, that places the base price of feed barley at €210/t and feed wheat at €220/t.

The prices are green prices based on a moisture content of 20%.

The €4/t transport payment is included in all prices.

An important thing to note on this year’s harvest prices is that the spend to reach the full trading bonuses has changed to €80/t from €60/t last year.

Fertiliser can only account for half of this spend, which may make it more difficult to achieve for some farmers. The full details are below. The trading bonus is set to increase for the next season of 2027.

Transport allowances

Details of the Tirlán Harvest 2026 Grain Prices are set out below. Transport allowances have also increased this year by roughly 10%.

Interestingly, Tirlán has decided to pay an extra €10/t to growers supplying Cassia barley this year. The variety is in the market since 2011, but is in high demand by the drinks sector. This bonus will increase to €25/t in 2027.

Commenting on the announcement, Tirlán chairperson Gerard O’Brien said: "While overall grain intake at 190,000 tonnes was significantly lower than last year's exceptional harvest, our tillage farmers have once again demonstrated remarkable resilience by producing high-quality crops in a challenging environment. Against a backdrop of input cost pressures and global market volatility, the grain they produce remains a vital ingredient in Ireland's food and feed supply chain.”

O'Brien added: "There is a strong connection between the Irish livestock and tillage sectors. By supporting feed manufacturers that source Irish grain, livestock farmers can help strengthen the sustainability, security and traceability of domestic food production while supporting fellow farm families."

    • In 2026, Tirlán updated its trading bonus requirements. The co-op said: “Fertiliser and Other Tillage Inputs (OTI) are now assessed separately, subject to a maximum bonus of €10 per tonne of grain supplied.”

    Other tillage inputs include chemicals, seed grain, grass, forage or cover crops seed and crop packaging. Farmers who spend €25-39.99/t on OTIs with the co-op will receive a bonus payment of €2.50/t. A spend of €40-79.99/t on OTIs results in a €5/t bonus and a spend of €80/t or greater results in the full bonus of €10/t.

    If you spend €25-39.99/t of grain supplied on fertiliser, you will receive a trading bonus of €2.50/t. If you spend €40/t or greater on fertiliser, you will receive a trading bonus of €5/t. You cannot receive a trading bonus of more than €10/t in total. However, in 2027 this will increase to €12.50/t.

    Tirlán is the second co-op to announce its grain prices for harvest 2026. Centenary Thurles announced a price of €225/t including bonuses for feed barley and €237/t including bonuses for feed wheat on Friday, 18 September.
