A new set of varieties is on the oilseed rape recommended list for 2018. Compass, Flash and Sensation have given way to Anastasia, DK Extrovert, PX113 and SY Harnas.

All four varieties have just come on to this new list, which does not include the performance of varieties in 2018.

All four fully recommended varieties are similar in terms of the different characteristics compared.

The new conventional variety Anastasia has the highest yield at 103. This is a tall variety with good resistance to lodging and it also has good pod-shedding resistance.

DK Extrovert is a long-serving hybrid but it looks like it has come up a bit shy on yield at 98. It is tall, very early flowering and it has the best pod-shedding and light leaf spot resistance ratings.

PX113 is a semi-dwarf hybrid from Pioneer. It is slightly lower yielding and much shorter than the others with stiff straw and good lodging resistance.

SY Harnas is also a hybrid with an average yield of 100. It is not so tall with straw characteristics similar to Extrovert. Most other characteristics are similar to Anastasia.
