Roscrea mart had over 400 weanlings through the ring on Wednesday night selling 280 bulls and 135 heifers in the sale. The top third of heifer weanlings in the 300-400kg weight bracket came into €6.30/kg, with the top third in the 400-450kg weight bracket coming in at €6.54/kg.

Exporter buying dominated the bull weanling trade with big competition from a few of the country’s big exporters for stock. The top third of bull weanlings in the 300-400kg weight bracket came in at €6.65/kg, while bull weanlings in the 450kg+ weight category came in at €6.26/kg in the sale.
