Applications for the Stephen Cullinan Scholarship are now open. Funded by the Agricultural Trust and the Irish Farmers Journal, the scholarship enables young farmers to visit New Zealand and work there for six months to gain experience of alternative methods of dairy farming.

The scholarship winners receive a return travel ticket to New Zealand and a work placement on a progressive dairy farm, which will commence toward the end of June.

Successful applicants must be willing to travel to New Zealand at the beginning of July 2019.

Those wishing to apply must be current members of Macra na Feirme, aged between 18 and 30 on 1 January 2019. It is also advised that they are committed to pursuing a career in the dairy industry.

How do I apply?

For those interested in applying, completed application forms and CVs must be sent to Jennifer Keegan, Macra na Feirme, Irish Farm Centre, Bluebell, Dublin 12 (jkeegan@macra.ie), on or before Tuesday 16 April 2019. Interviews will take place at the Irish Farm Centre, Bluebell, Dublin 12, on Tuesday 23 of April 2019.
