The Law Society of Ireland has announced a new certificate in agribusiness and food law.
The syllabus is designed to give comprehensive coverage of related legal issues, and will include modules on food and farm regulation, enforcement, succession, tax, commercial contract issues and business operating structures.
Participants will be provided with an insight into the legislative and regulatory structures that apply to the sector, together with an analysis of recent case law.
The course commences on 20 October.
“The Law Society of Ireland recognises the importance of the agri food sector as Ireland’s largest indigenous industry.
“Many solicitors advise farmers and those working in the agribusiness and food industry on a daily basis. Providing legal services to this dynamic sector requires not only a comprehensive understanding of the law, but also of the business environment that applies.
“The Law Society sees that there is an appetite among solicitors and those working in the agribusiness and food industry to better understand the law as it applies to this sector and the environment within which those in the sector operate.”
