Case IH announced that it is developing a new tractor range to fit between the current Puma and Magnum tractors at its SIMA show press conference earlier this year.

Since then, the Irish Farmers Journal has had confirmation from Case IH that this new tractor will be unveiled at Agritechnica in November.

The new tractor is seen as a bridge between the two models. The current Magnum tractor may not have been able to compete with the more lightweight and agile 300hp options available at the moment.

Case IH is keen to point out that this is not just a bigger Puma or smaller Magnum, it is a completely new offering. The name has also been provisionally decided on.

Case launched the next generation of the Puma series tractors in February. The key change is that the FPT 6.7-litre engine is now compliant for Tier 4 final emission regulations.

The cab has been updated with a new roof and seamless front windscreen. The lighting package consists of eight standard LED lights, with the higher specification offering 14.

The headland management system has been updated to offer more controls and easier recording of sequences, on-screen input and amending of the headland actions.

The tractor’s terminal is fully compatible for use with Isobus 3.

New Holland has also confirmed that it will have a new range at Agritechnica between the T7 and T8, but is a little more tight-lipped about it.
