One year on from when Valtra first started manufacturing the well-proven AGCO continuously variable transmissions (CVT) on site at its production facility in Suolahti, Finland, it has now built its 1,000th CVT unit.

The new facility was commissioned last year in response to the ever-growing customer demand for CVTs and as part of the firm’s €38m high technology investment.

Before production started in Finland, the ML260 CVT found in the Q (230-305hp) and S (280-420hp) Series tractors were sourced from AGCO’s Fendt facility in Marktoberdorf, Germany.

In addition to Valtra tractors, AGCO CVT transmissions produced in Suolahti are also supplied to other AGCO tractor brands.

“Reaching this 1,000th CVT milestone shows that the new Suolahti expansion has achieved its intended performance quickly – with quality, delivery reliability and efficiency fully aligned,” said transmission plant manager at Valtra Kullervo Mansikkala.
