The recently launched video blog, Fitting in Fitness, compiled by Evelyn Garland, is to help people who – like most of us – have a very hectic working week and struggle to fit in some physical exercise.
This video blog is a guideline to help give you those 10 minutes of exercise you need to keep your body and mind healthy and active. It concentrates on everything from your abs to your glutes.
By watching the video and following the exercises at least three times a week, you will begin to feel the difference. It does take time and patience, but it’s 100% worth it in the end.
The best part is that you can do these six quick, easy exercises from the comfort of your own home. All you need is a mat to support yourself or a piece of carpet is just as good. Don’t forget a bottle of water. If you are repeating these exercises twice or three times in a session, it is important to take a break and re-hydrate. Make sure to stretch your muscles before and after your workout to avoid any pulls you might sustain and, remember, don’t overdo it.
We will be covering the following exercises in the video:
Don’t forget to repeat this set twice.

Five reasons you should exercise:
Doing something is better than nothing, right? Even 10 minutes a day is better than nothing.
Exercise benefits your body by:
1. Improving your memory: Your brain gets more energy and oxygen. Studies have shown it can boost your memory and help you learn better.
2. You’ll have better posture: Many farmers might suffer from a sore back due to bad posture, but regularly exercising the muscles that are giving you discomfort can go a long way to fixing your posture.
3. You’ll de-stress: We all get stressed sometime in our life. Exercising is a great way to combat stress. Natural endorphins are released in your brain to help reduce and fight any signs of stress.
4. You’ll sleep better: If you’re a bad sleeper, regular exercise can help your sleeping pattern. The best time to exercise is in the morning or afternoon. That could even mean going for a walk or run on your dinner break at work.
5. You’ll live longer: A healthy mind means a healthy body. Healthy living will increase your life expectancy. Don’t be a couch potato, get up and get active. You’ll reap the benefits.
