The FTMTA conference will be held in The Heritage Hotel, Killenard, Co Laois, on Friday 20 November.
Given the predominantly family business nature of the farm machinery sector, the presentation by Kieran McCarthy in relation to sustainability and viability in family businesses, with a particular emphasis on transition and succession, is sure to be of interest.
McCarthy is a founding partner and head of audit at accounting firm Hughes Blake, which has a unique focus on serving entrepreneurial owner-managed and family-owned businesses. Kieran qualified as a certified public accountant in 1995, became a fellow of the Institute of Taxation of Ireland in 1998 and published his first book, Family Business - A Survival Guide, in 2014. The book has been well received and primes the owners of family businesses to meet the unique challenges when family members work together.
