A 2023 Valtra T215 Versu tractor with 2,334 hours topped Hennessy Auctioneers recent August sale, having sold for €94,000. The mint-condition model in question featured a full specification list, that included front linkage and PTO, as well as 650/65 R42 and 540/65 R30 Trelleborg tyres.

The auction saw yet another strong entry of over 1,107 lots, mainly farm and livestock handling machinery. Including the timed online auction that followed Saturday’s live sale, ending on Monday morning, the sale yielded an 86% clearance rate.

With over 1,500 bidders registered, Ciaran Hennessy from the Laois-based family auctioneering business described interest as strong, particularly for cleaner equipment regardless of age.

Other highlight prices included €50,000 plus VAT that was paid for a 2020 Massey Ferguson 7720S tractor, complete with front linkage and PTO and a Dyna-6 transmission, a 2007 JCB 3CX Sitemaster backhoe digger/loader sold for €31,500, a 2020 Kobelco 8t digger sold at €30,250 plus VAT, a 1997 Massey Ferguson 4255 fitted with a Rossmore FL60 front loader sold at €19,800 and a 2021 J-Mac JT1500 mini telehandler sold at €19,750 plus VAT.

A 1975 Ford JJ Thomas 95-100 tractor sold at €18,750, a2018 McConnell PA5455 hedge cutter sold at €18,300 and a 2023 Masschio 3m disc harrow sold at €14,550 plus VAT.

Only lots listed as ‘plus VAT’ were subject to 23% VAT. Commission was charged at 5% on top of the prices quoted and subject to a maximum fee of €1,000/item. Hennessy’s next auction takes place on Saturday 19 September.
