Entries are now open for this year’s National Invention and Innovation awards 2026, set to be judged at Tullamore Show on Sunday 9 August.

The competition aims to recognise and award individuals who have designed their own machine, device or technology solution to overcome a particular issue.

Inventions and modifications to existing inventions are also eligible to enter.

The list of categories for the 2026 competition include:

  • Agricultural/horticultural.
  • Industrial.
  • Domestic/commercial.
  • Sustainability/environmental.
  • Student class.

    • Prize money across each of the categories is €500 for first place and €200 for second and third place. Closing dates for hard copy entries is Wednesday 1 July and Friday 3 July for all online entries.
