Building its first self-propelled slurry tanker in 1990, Vervaet has launched the new third-generation Hydro Trike self-propelled slurry applicator.
The Dutch specialist manufacturer of self-propelled sugar beet harvesters and slurry applicators has carried out significant development in the new machine, including more tank capacity, a stronger drivetrain, increased rear lift capacity, a new tyre configuration and improved cab comfort.
The New Hydro Trike is available in two configurations: three-wheeler (17m³ tank) and five-wheeler (21m³ tank). Both tanks are more than 1m³ larger than their predecessors.
New engine
The new Hydro Trike is equipped with a 530hp Mercedes MTU engine. Vervaet says the cooling system is now 50% larger and upgraded for use in temperatures up to 50°C, which aligns with expanding export markets in southern Europe.
According to the manufacturer, thanks to its new VSG 2.0 transmission, the Hydro Trike 3.0 delivers up to 45% more tractive power in the lower speed range of 0 to 10km/h: from 100,000Nm to 145,000Nm.

Vervaet says this is essential on hilly terrain and for working with today’s increasingly wider and heavier application tools. The rear linkage lift capacity has increased from 5,000 to 10,000kg, making the machine suitable for heavier implements.
New middle axle
For the five-wheeler with 5x5 drive, the manufacturer says the driven centre axle has been redeveloped with axial piston motors and reduction gears. This new middle axle has 30% more tractive power compared to its predecessor.
A higher front fork allows larger front wheels to be fitted while keeping the machine’s overall height below four metres.

Vervaet says new rear tyre sizes, such as the BKT 1020/55 R38, can be fitted without exceeding a three-metre transport width.
Wider 1250/50 R32 tyres only marginally exceed this, making the machine 3.2 metres wide. Compared with the previous Hydro Trike, all tyre configurations provide approximately 30% more contact surface area.
Pump
The new Hydro Trike can be fitted with a 9,000l or 13,500l/min Börger positive displacement pump, combined with Vervaet’s well-known Cyclone macerator.
Optionally, the new Hydro Trike is available with the Vervaet Superfill system, which reduces loading time by 1.5 minutes, using a turbo filler on the suction arm with a bypass directly into the tank.
Diameter of the suction pipe is also increased from eight to 10 inches for greater capacity during high-rate applications.
New cab
The new Hydro Trike gains the new Claas X11 cab with more room, better visibility and improved sound insulation.
Vervaet says the Hydro Trike is the first machine to be fitted with its newly developed Vervaet machine management system (MMS), a new user interface that will be rolled out across all Vervaet models in the future.
Production
The new Vervaet Hydro Trike will enter production towards the end of 2026, although a planned pre-production series is already sold out. A European demo tour will commence from mid-July.
