The Irish Texel Sheep Society will stage this year’s Growvite All-Ireland finals on Sunday 21 June at the Athlone Agricultural Show.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the finals, with a superb entry of over 200 Texels from leading flocks right across the country.

Taking on the unenviable task of judging this year’s competition is George Wilkinson of the renowned Arkle flock in England.

According to a spokesperson for the society: “George is really looking forward to the event, having been very impressed by the quality of sheep he saw at last year’s Premier Sale.”

Judging will commence at 10am, with a refreshment break during the day – so be sure to go along and enjoy the wonderful hospitality of the Irish Texel Society.
