Netherlands – port strike

The strike by staff that had closed the Dutch port of Rotterdam has ended, but the backlog means that there is a seven-day wait for ships to unload cargoes.

USA – butter prices fall

Since mid-July, US butter prices have fallen by 30% to $3.855 (€3,295) per tonne, the lowest level since the middle of 2021.

China – no US soya

It is reported from China that it didn’t import any soya from the United States last month for the first time since 2018.

Argentina – opportunity in US

US president Donald Trump has indicated that it may import beef from Argentina to try to reduce consumer prices in the States.
