Well-fleshed Friesian cows sold for between €250 and €400 with their weight, while those in need of more feeding sold from €1.10/kg to €1.30/kg. There were 120 cows on offer and they sold from €50 to €725 over the euro/kg. Sample prices:
Bullocks
There was some excellent early 2016-born stock, both Friesian and beef-crosses, weighing in the mid-400kg range. Beef-crosses were pulling in over €450 with their weight, while Friesians made over €300 over the euro/kg.
Older bullocks were a mixed bag quality-wise, with over 250kg weight difference between stock the same age. Forward stores were in shorter supply this week, but prices were on par with recent weeks.
Friesians made between €200 and €550 with their weight and traditional beef-crosses sold for between €400 and €700 over the €/kg, while continentals made between €400 and €800 with their weight. Sample prices:
Calves
There were 610 calves sold, with export-type Friesian bulls selling for between €80 and €130 and older bull calves selling for up to €250. Friesian heifers sold for between €150 and €300.
Hereford and Angus-cross bull calves were making from €220 to €430, with heifers of these breeds selling from €200 to €380. Continental heifers sold for up to €400, with continental bulls making up to €475.
