People are advised to pay particular attention to the risk posed by fallen trees and flying debris during storm Lorenzo after a national emergency co-ordination group meeting was held on Thursday.
Local co-ordination groups continue to meet in preparation for the arrival of the storm.
There have been preventative actions taken, including the installation of sandbags and temporary flood defences. Some road closures in coastal areas have also been implemented.

ESB Networks will advise customers of estimated times for the restoration of power in affected areas from Friday 4 October. This information can be accessed via the Powercheck app or by calling 1850 372 999.
Irish Water has advised that any loss of supply should be reported to its customer care centre number on 1850 278 278.
The national emergency co-ordination group will meet on Friday at 12pm to review the situation.
