Brian Carroll of Sherry Fitzgerald Carroll, Dundalk, confirmed the private sale of a 28.7-acre residential farm situated in Green Road, Dromiskin, Co Louth. This attractive property was brought to the market at the end of last year, before a deal was completed at the end of January.
The modern residence (2000 sq ft) includes a sitting room, kitchen/dining room, living room and utility rooms on the ground floor, along with an en-suite master bedroom and three further bedrooms on the first floor.
The sale included 28.7 acres of grazing land, which is laid out in five divisions. The land is described as excellent quality and is sheltered by mature trees and hedgerows. With frontage onto the Green Road, the ground is flat in nature and well drained from a natural water supply.
Irish Country Living understands that the land portion sold for a price in the region of €11,000/acre, although the overall price achieved for the residential farm at Dromiskin was slightly below the guided price of €575,000 (€250,000 for the house and €325,000 for the farmland).
According to selling agent Brian Carroll, the sale produced a good response from interested local parties as well as clients from further away looking to purchase a house with land in the area.
In the end, the property was secured by a local family with agricultural interests.
