A 220ac residential farm in Co Limerick is believed to have been purchased in two portions by two individual local dairy farmers.

Auctioneer Pat Dooley brought the hammer down at €2.62m for a 187ac Co Limerick farm as it sold at auction on Thursday 30 April. Held in the Charleville Park Hotel and online on the LSL Auctions platform, the farm in Feenagh village had six bidders with most present in the room.
Initially offered to the market as a 220ac residential property, the house and 33ac of land were sold ahead of the auction for €1.2m. The conclusion of the auction brought the total price of the property to €3.82m, this equates to €17,364/ac.
This is ahead of its pre-sale guide price of €3.5m. It is believed that two local dairy farmers were the successful purchasers.

Waterford
Elsewhere, a 26ac holding at Knockavannia, Ballymacarbry, Co Waterford received 37 separate bids as it sold at auction on Tuesday 28 April. Clonmel-based PF Quirke and Co Ltd conducted the auction in its offices with 15 people present.
Bidding opened at €200,000 and reached €315,000 where the property was placed on the market. Bidding continued until auctioneer Pat Quirke brought down the gavel at €367,000 (€14,115/ac). It was bought a local farmer.
