Killusty Pony Show will take place on Saturday July 7th. The show, which is in its 56th year, will offer a 101 classes this year.

Such a large selection of classes means that every horse and rider will be catered for at the show. The classes include; In- hand, Broodmare, Mountain and Moorland, Connemara, Coloured horse, Cob, Show Pony, Show Hunter, Working Hunter, Performance Working Hunter, Performance jumping, Associate Horse Classes and many more.

This year there is an added incentive of an additional €500 being added to the prize-fund for in-hand pony classes.

This is to help encourage entries in these classes and to return to the original intention of the show, which was to promote in-hand ponies.

NEW CLASSES:

A number of new classes have been added to the programme this year, including equitation classes and a young handler class.

Killusty Show and Clonmel Show have joined forces to fund a €150 Championship. It is hoped the championship will promote the Performance Working Hunter Pony classes. The Champion and Reserve Champion from Clonmel Show and Killusty Show will compete again in Killusty to decide the winner.

There is also a dog show taking place at the show with 12 classes. Just in case that wasn’t enough there is also a fancy dress competition.

The show will take place at Claremore Killusty, thanks to the kind permission of landowners, Noel Byrne and Barry Walsh. More information and a full list of classes can be found on the Killusty Pony Show Facebook page.

There is no charge at the gate on entry, but donations would be greatly appreciated to help defray expenses. Entries made before 29 June are €10 or €15 if they are made on the day.

Non-IPS members must purchase day insurance (€5 per owner/rider) if they intend to compete.
