John O’Leary, an animal bedding supplier, from Scartnaglorane, Tincurry, Cahir, Co Tipperary, has been ordered to pay €290,563.59, of which €143,000 is undeclared tax, €109,000 interest and a €39,000 penalty.
Farmer and contractor Raymond O’Grady from Crusheen, Co Clare, has been ordered to pay €85,064 for non-declared Capital Gains Tax (CGT), of which €50,000 is undeclared tax, €20,000 in interest and a €15,000 penalty.
Farmer and meat wholesaler Thomas Darcy from Tombricane, Borrisokane, Nenagh, Co Tipperary, has been ordered to pay €85,000 for under declaration of income and capital gains tax, of which €53,000 is undeclared tax, €17,000 in interest and a €16,000 penalty.
Tarmacadam contractor and farmer Keith Naylor from Derry, Rathcabbin, Roscrea, Co Tipperary, was ordered to pay €37.871.85 for under declaration of income tax, of which €25,000 is undeclared tax, €6,000 in interest and a €7,000 penalty.
Farmer Columb Crazil with an address of Grange House, Edenderry, Co Offaly, received a €71,070.40 penalty relating to the under declaration or non-declaration of tax.
And farmer Noel Keane with an address of Cloonanoonagh, Tarbert, Co Kerry, received a €25,498.96 penalty relating to the under declaration or non-declaration of tax.
Green diesel
Seven farmers were fined for failure to lodge income tax returns. Eight farmers were fined for offences relating to the misuse of green diesel.
