An attempt to break a sheep shearing record will take place at the Connacht Spring Show at Ballinrobe Racecourse next month.
Representatives from Burgon and Ball will oversee the proceedings on Sunday 15 May as the Irish record for the largest number of people shearing sheep together in the same place at the same time for five minutes is attempted to be broken.
To break the record, 200 hand shearers are needed as the current record stands at 154. Funds raised in the process will go to Western Alzheimers in Ballindine, Co Mayo.
