Joe Moore from Dungiven is celebrating 30 years in country music in 2015. A night to mark the occasion will be held in the Du Pont Club, Campsie, Derry, on 21 February. He will be joined by guest artists Boxcar Brian, Jordan Mogey and Shauna McStravock.

Mayo-based Tom Quinn has just released a four-track cd. Tom, who lived in Birmingham for many years, penned the title song of the new release, The Light of El Paso, after a visit to Texas some months ago. He recorded the tracks with American musicians in El Paso.

Kevin Rohan and Rodneys’s Glory have been entertaining folks in Galway and Mayo for many years. The group was formed by Kevin back in 1971. They have just issued a cd featuring a collection of music and songs from over the years. The 13-track release features the talents of Kevin Rohan, Big Martin Fleming and Liam Merrigan.

A major silver jubilee night celebrating Dermot Moriarty’s 25 years promoting country acts on radio will be held in Killarney at the end of May. Dermot hosts three weekly shows on Radio Kerry.

Ally Harron and Marian Curry will host their fifth annual country music weekend in the Central Hotel in Donegal from 22-24 May. Joining them will be Declan Nerney, Shaun Loughrey, Anthony McBrien, Francie Smith, Sean Corrigan and Ceili Time. For more details, see allyharron.com

Marc Roberts has released his new tribute album of John Denver songs. The Mayo native, who hosts weekly shows on Galway Bay Radio, has recorded some of his favourite John Denver numbers for his latest album. He is featuring as a guest artist on the current Mike Denver concert tour.
