Nathan Tuffy is Western Livestock Specialist with the Irish Farmers Journal. He has been working as a livestock specialist with the IFJ since December 2010 and is responsible for western news and technical features, along with MartWatch reports and analysis. He previously worked as a private agricultural consultant, as a good farming practice adviser for Teagasc and worked on the small holders programme for Sligo LEADER Partnership. He graduated from University College Dublin in 2006 with an honours degree in animal science. Throughout his time studying, he spent weekends and summer holidays working on a mixed-enterprise organic farm. He also has a strong dairy interest and is involved in the family farm in Co Sligo, which operates a dairy and beef enterprise.
