Summer eating might just become that bit easier with the launch of Homebird: Ireland’s only Bord Bia-approved pre-cooked, ready to serve, sliced chicken and turkey. Created by O’Brien Fine Foods – the people behind the Brady Family brand – Homebird chicken is sourced from Manor Farm, while Homebird turkey is sourced from Hogan’s Farm. The new range is available in supermarkets nationwide, but for some recipe inspiration, why not try these chicken wraps?

1 small tub plain hummus

Juice from half a lemon

2 tbsp olive oil

Salt

Wraps

Homebird Irish roast chicken pieces

Lettuce leaves, rinsed and patted dry

Tomato, rinsed and sliced

1 Spoon hummus into a small bowl. Add lemon juice, olive oil and a pinch of salt. Mix to combine. Taste for seasoning, add more salt if needed. Set aside.

2 Optional, warm wraps on a heated griddle pan or dry frying pan. Remove from pan and place on a wooden board or plate. Allow to cool slightly if a bit too warm.

3 Spread three to four tablespoons of lemon hummus onto wrap. Arrange chicken pieces, lettuce and tomato slices on the wrap in a line down the centre. Fold over both ends of the wrap to close. Enjoy. CL
