An immaculate 2010 Massey Ferguson 5445 complete with a Quicke Q50 front loader and showing 4,436 hours on the clock commanded the highest price at Hennessy Auctioneers October monthly auction last Saturday, selling at €49,500 plus fees.
In line with all Hennessy’s sales so far this year, there was yet another substantial entry, totalling 905 lots. Clearance rates for both the live and timed elements of the sale was 93%, with over 1,900 bidders tuned in to follow Saturday’s proceedings. The sale included a number of special dispersal items on behalf of a Wexford tillage farmer, one of which was the top-priced Massey Ferguson 5445.
The next highest price of the day was paid for a 2010 JCB 540-140 teleporter with 6,150 hours and complete with pallet forks and a bucket, selling for €39,500 plus VAT. This was followed by a 2007 John Deere 7530 with 14,700 hours on the, which sold for €29,000 plus VAT. A 2022 New Holland L318 skid steer showing 1,287 hours sold at €28,200 plus VAT.
A 2019 Broughan 32ft tri-axle low loader sold at €26,000 plus VAT and a 2019 Abbey 3000 gallon tandem axle slurry tanker sold for €24,600 plus VAT. An immaculate 2010 Welger RP245 round baler included as part of the dispersal sale and showing a bale count of 41,000 sold for €18,600. A 2010 Kuhn HR4504 power harrow complete with a transport trolly and also included in the dispersal sale sold for €11,600.
Other highlight prices included €30,000 plus VAT which was paid for a 2015 JCB 535-60 Agri Super telehandler, €20,900 which was paid for a 2003 New Holland TL90 and €25,0000 which was paid for a 2010 JCB TM310 pivot steer loader.
Only lots listed as ‘plus VAT’ were subject to VAT, all other lots had no VAT. Commission was charged at 5% on top of the prices quoted and subject to a maximum fee of €1,000 per item. Hennessy Auctioneers’ next machinery auction is set to take place on Saturday 15 November.
